Liberty Investigation Continues

Several items were found in the dorm room of Joshua Hathaway, the Liberty University student who was fatally shot on Tuesday by a university security officer.
A search warrant inventory filed in court shows that investigators found bullets and a cartridge case and seized a Palm Pilot and computer hard drive from Hathaway’s room.
Law enforcement officials believe Hathaway entered an off-campus women’s dorm early Tuesday and told a security officer that he had been robbed. Hathaway then allegedly attacked the officer with a hammer. The security officer fatally shot Hathaway.
The officer has been placed on paid leave pending the conclusion of the investigation.
