Seven candidates running for seven seats on Bedford Town
Council were elected on Tuesday. The winners will take their seats after
Bedford reverts to town status in July.
Meanwhile, Terry Austin, a member of the Botetourt County Board
of Supervisors, won the Republican nomination for delegate from the 19th District
on Tuesday, in the battle to succeed longtime Delegate Lacey Putney. Austin received
the GOP nomination through a firehouse primary held on Tuesday in Alleghany,
Botetourt and Bedford County.
