New Quinnipiac Poll
Democrat Terry McAuliffe has a slight lead of 43 percent to 38 percent over Republican Ken Cuccinelli in the governor's race, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University.
The poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percent, differs from a recent Washington Post poll that showed Cuccinelli with a 46-41 edge over McAuliffe.
In the new survey, independents appeared to be split evenly between McAuliffe and Cuccinelli while roughly 17 percent of voters are undecided.
On the national scene, in what was termed a "trial heat" for the 2016 presidential elections, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would defeat Republican Sen. Marco Rubio 51-38, and also defeat U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, 50-40.
