Elephant Mountain Fire

Firefighters have contained about 70 percent of the Elephant Mountain wildfire near Buena Vista.
Officials with the U.S. Forest Service say the fire has consumed at least 256 acres.
Firefighters on Tuesday secured the north end of the fire and continue to deal with interior hotspots.
No homes have been damaged by the brush fire, which was first reported Sunday afternoon.
Smoke from the Elephant Mountain area may be visible in Buena Vista and surrounding areas for several days after the fire is put out.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
