The Augusta County Supervisors adopted a fiscal 2014 budget on Wednesday that
raises the real estate tax rate slightly to allocate more funding to Augusta
County Schools.
By a 4-3 vote, the Augusta County Board of Supervisors approved a budget which
raises the real estate tax rate by three cents, up to 51 cents per $100 of
assessed value.
The tax increase will raise $2 million in extra revenue. Nearly $1.35
million of the extra revenue will go to the school division.
