The Virginia State Police have identified the three people killed Sunday
afternoon on Interstate 77 in Carroll County after 95 vehicles were involved in
17 separate crashes on the interstate about six miles north of the North
Carolina border.
Those killed in the accidents were 33-year-old William Sosebee of Kentucky,
71-year-old Kathern Worley of North Carolina, and 24-year-old Andrew Katbi of Ohio.
Heavy fog was a major factor in the wrecks, which occurred Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
at the base of Fancy Gap Mountain, near mile marker 6 in Carroll County.
