I-81 Accident Tuesday in Botetourt County

A tractor-trailer accident Tuesday morning on I-81 in Botetourt County, at mile marker 167, resulted in the closing of northbound lanes along with lengthy traffic backups.

The vehicle was transporting turkeys to Harrisonburg for processing. Hundreds of turkeys were killed but it appears the driver was not injured in the crash.
The northbound lanes were reopened Tuesday around 11:15 a.m.
