The 64th
annual packing of the Rockbridge Area Christmas Baskets will be Saturday,
Dec. 15, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Anderson Arena at the Virginia Horse
Center.
Organizers
say hundreds of individuals are needed to pack the boxes of food
and bags of toys. Last
year the program packed
baskets containing over 63,000 pounds of food which were delivered to more
than 1,080 families representing 2,812 people, including 979 children.
The
program is still accepting donations. Funds to help pay for the program are especially
needed this year because food costs are up significantly. Contributions
