Buchanan Couple Wins $1 Million

A Buchanan couple, Amber and Marvin Thompson, picked up a share of the record $580 million Powerball jackpot.
The Thompsons matched five of the numbers and won $1 million. The winning ticket was purchased at the Sali Mini Mart on U.S. 220.
The Thompsons held one of four $1 million tickets sold in Virginia. The others were sold in Harrisonburg, Richmond and Alexandria.
The Thompsons have not yet decided whether to take their winnings in a lump sum or spaced out over time.
