VHSL Approves Six Classifications

The Virginia High School League Executive Committee has approved emergency legislation to move to a six-classification group plan, starting with the 2013-14 school year.
Under the six-classification system, district alignment will remain as is, but playoff spots will be determined by a points system, as is the case with football.
The new system will implement conferences for postseason play in every sport except football, which will use the format currently used in Group A.
