The Nature Conservancy and the Forest Service are conducting Thursday
one of the largest controlled fires on the East Coast at a preserve on Warm Springs
Mountain in Bath County.
The fires will affect about 5,700 acres on properties shared by
the two groups.
The burn is aimed at helping the forest's resiliency and fight
invasive species.
