Award-winning journalist and political analyst Roland Martin
will present the keynote address for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
at Washington and Lee University
on Monday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. in Lee Chapel. A reception will follow in Evans
Dining Hall.
Martin’s address will be one of many events during the weeklong
celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King. Other events include a
Day of Service on Saturday, Jan. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosted by the Shepherd
Poverty Program, and a Sunday Supper on Sunday, January 15. There will also be
a birthday party for the children of Rockbridge
County on Monday, Jan.
16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Elrod Commons Living Room and a Celebration
of Soul Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. in the Commons Marketplace.
