A Fairfield woman was killed Tuesday in a single vehicle accident on Route 11 in Rockbridge County.
The Virginia State Police say the accident claimed the life of 51-year-old Pamela McCambridge of Fairfield.
McCambridge was driving a 2003 Mercury Sable south on Route 11, about a mile north of Lincoln Road, when she ran off the right side of the road, struck a tree and overturned.
McCambridge, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene of the accident, which happened around noon on Tuesday.
The Virginia State Police say neither alcohol or excessive speed were factors in the crash and their investigation continues.
