Virginia Tech Shootings

Virginia Tech officials now say ballistics testing linked Thursday’s fatal shootings, which resulted in the death of Virginia Tech police officer Deriek Crouse.

Testing confirmed that Crouse and an unidentified man found nearby were fatally shot by the same weapon.

The Virginia State Police have said the unidentified man discovered in the Cage parking lot showed up in video retrieved from Crouse's patrol car with the weapon that may have been used in the killing of the police officer.
