New City Manager

Buena Vista’s new city manager is William “Jay” Scudder, who has more than 20 years of experience in local government operations, including stints as county administrator in Patrick County and Fluvanna County.

Scudder, a graduate of E.C. Glass High School, has a bachelor degree from James Madison University.

Scudder was selected from a pool of 22 applicants. Buena Vista City Council is expected to formally approve Scudder’s contract in the near future.
