New Dabney program

Dabney Lancaster Community College will be offering this fall a program for those wishing to qualify as a wind turbine service technician.
The course is being offered as part of the Shenandoah Valley Energy Partnership, a federal grant program aimed at training local workers for in-demand green construction and manufacturing skills.
Training is available to qualified applicants at Dabney’s main campus in Clifton Forge. Those interested in enrolling in the program can take part in an open house session Tuesday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 502 of McCarthy Hall on the Clifton Forge campus. Another session will be held at the Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista Thursday, Aug. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. Both sessions will feature a representative from the wind turbine service technology program who can answer questions.
For more information, call the Rockbridge Center at 261-1211.
