With a week to go until the Great
SouthEast ShakeOut on Thursday, October
17, Virginia has become only the second state ever to pass the one
million mark in people registered to take part in the earthquake drill.
The drill, Drop, Cover, and Hold On, is open to individuals,
families, businesses, organizations, and schools and colleges.
The multistate drill, which will
take place at 10:17 in the morning on Thursday, October 17, will provide an
opportunity to practice the safe response to an earthquake.
