Lease Granted for Wind Power

Dominion Virginia Power has won final approval of its $1.6 million bid to lease nearly 113,000 offshore acres for the development of wind power.
Virginia's largest utility has signed lease documents and now will work on presenting a construction and operations plan to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.
Dominion Virginia Power officials say full development of the lease area could power 700,000 homes by ocean winds.
