A debate in Virginia featuring candidates for governor will not include the Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis.
WDBJ in Roanoke will co-host the October 24 debate at Virginia Tech.
The debate will feature Republican Ken Cuccinelli and Democrat Terry McAuliffe but Sarvis was not invited to participate.
Organizers of the debate said both major party campaigns agreed that the third-party nominee would be invited to participate if he was polling at 10 percent or greater in major statewide independent polls. At last report, Sarvis was polling at an average of 9 percent.
