George “Pete” Ramsey III, VMI Class
of 1972, was elected president of the VMI Board of Visitors at the board’s
meeting Saturday.
Ramsey’s term begins July 1, when
he will take the place of Paul Fraim. Fraim completes a two-year term as board
president, and will continue as a member of the board for another year, when he
completes his second term.
Ramsey is a partner in the Counts Realty
& Auction Group, one of the largest full-service auction companies on the
East Coast. Ramsey has served on the Board of Governors of the VMI Keydet Club
and was a member of the VMI Athletic Council. He has also served on the Board
of Trustees of the VMI Foundation. Ramsey was inducted into the VMI Sports Hall
of Fame in 2005.
