More Rain Coming

More rain is possible through Saturday according to officials with the National Weather Service.
Many areas are still trying to recover from the rain Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The excessive rainfall resulted in the James River at Holcomb Rock cresting at just over 21.7 feet on Wednesday, just below the 22-foot flood level. The James River at Buchanan on Wednesday also went over its banks for a time, closing Route 11.
Several roads in the region remain closed due to high water. For the latest information on road conditions, you can check out VDOT’s website at 511virginia.org.
