More
rain is possible through Saturday according to officials with the National
Weather Service.
Many
areas are still trying to recover from the rain Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The excessive rainfall resulted in the James River at Holcomb Rock cresting
at just over 21.7 feet on Wednesday, just below the 22-foot flood level. The
James River at Buchanan on Wednesday also went over its banks for a time,
closing Route 11.
Several roads in the region remain closed due to high water. For the latest
