A fire Friday afternoon resulted in heavy damage to the front of a home near the intersection of Varner Lane and Preston in Lexington.
The fire consumed the front porch as Lexington firefighters worked to make sure the fire didn't spread.
No word of any injuries and no word yet on the cause of the fire.
