All Lanes Open on I-81

VDOT crews on Tuesday finished their repairs to a 20-foot-wide sinkhole that was discovered on Monday on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County. The sinkhole was discovered on the right shoulder of I-81 northbound near mile marker 197.
VDOT crews paved over part of the sinkhole on Tuesday as both lanes of traffic reopened. Crews will continue to make repairs to underground drainage pipes that were damaged.
