Lynchburg Police say Gary Hilber was
the police officer injured Wednesday, after Hilber was shot by another officer
while serving a search warrant on 24-year-old David Gaines of Lynchburg.
Lynchburg Police say, in low light
conditions, an officer fired a bullet that struck Hilber, who was later treated
and released from Lynchburg General Hospital.
At last report, police were still
searching for Gaines for felony drug and gun charges.
