More than 700 environmental leaders from across Virginia are expected to attend the 24th Annual Environment Virginia Symposium April 9-11 at VMI.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Robert Johansen on Tuesday, April 9 at 1
p.m. at the Gillis Theater of Marshall Hall.
Other speakers during the symposium include David
Paylor, Director of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and the Secretary
of Natural Resources Doug Domenech.
There will also be programs on Uranium Mining,
Hydraulic Fracturing and the impact on water resources, and environmental
concerns for the next 50 years.
The Governor’s
Environmental Excellence Awards will be presented at the Environment Virginia
Banquet on Wednesday, April 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hall of Valor at Marshall
Hall.
