Drive With Caution

Thursday’s rare April snowfall has resulted in a warning from VDOT for motorists to drive with caution. What weather forecasters predicted would be rain on Thursday turned out to be snow and sleet instead, resulting in several wrecks yesterday on Interstate 81.
Meanwhile, VDOT crews worked throughout the night to plow and treat roads throughout the area. Road conditions are generally clear this morning in the Shenandoah Valley. Drivers are cautioned to watch for slick spots on roads, particularly on overpasses, bridges, and in the higher elevations. Motorists can get the latest road conditions by calling 511 or visiting VDOT’s website, 511Virginia.org.
