With a wintry mix of precipitation in the forecast for some
areas of Virginia this morning, motorists should use caution if driving as icy
conditions may occur in some areas.
The Virginia Department of Transportation treated roads on
Monday, in preparation for the mixed precipitation. Crews will continue to monitor
road conditions and respond as appropriate. Drivers should pay particular
attention to cooler areas such as bridges, overpasses, ramps, higher elevations
and shady spots where ice may form first.
