Lynchburg Police Talk Safety

Lynchburg Police met with citizens Thursday to talk safety, after the recent murder of a Lynchburg woman in her home.
Police met with citizens at Linkhorne Middle School and advised those attending to take steps to limit access to their property, with the use of fences or hedges. Police urged citizens to use motion-activated lights and deadbolt locks secured with screws at least two inches long and reinforce doors with strike plates over the locks.
Police said if citizens see a potential intruder outside their home, they should turn on exterior lights and activate a car alarm. If an intruder broke into the home, police advised citizens to lock themselves in another room and call 911.
