I-581 Fatality

The Virginia State Police closed I-581 southbound between Interstate 81 and Hershberger Road for several hours Thursday morning, after an apparent suicide. 
Witnesses said a man threw himself off the Hershberger Road overpass onto I-581 and was struck by several vehicles.
All three lanes of I-581 were closed while police investigated the death.
