A special grand jury on Thursday indicted a Florida man,
Matthew Gardner, charging him with involuntary manslaughter and reckless
driving for the April 23 wreck that killed Alfred Perutelli II and injured state
Trooper Daniel Wilson on the U.S. 29 bypass.
The accident occurred after the state trooper had stopped to
help Perutelli pick up furniture off the roadway that had fallen from his truck.
Gardner lost control of his vehicle and struck Perutelli and Wilson.
Gardner faces up to ten years on the involuntary manslaughter
charge and a year in jail on the reckless driving charge.
