Aerial Enforcement Curtailed

Due to reduced funding, the Virginia State Police has ended aerial speed limit enforcement.
The Virginia State Police retired the three Cessna 182 airplanes that had been used for the aerial enforcement program. The planes will now be used field training.
State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says an hour in the air costs about $150 for fuel and maintenance. She says the state police had to reduce expenses because of decreased federal funding.
