HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM WEDNESDAY ABOVE 2500 FEET...

Nearly 132,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers were without power earlier this morning in the wake of Hurricane Sandy's winds and rains. Most of the outages were in Northern Virginia. 
BARC reports about 570 outages, mainly in Highland County.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said he will ask for expedited emergency assistance from the federal government.
