Sandy Update

A Winter Weather advisory remains in effect for the Rockbridge area until 8 a.m. Wednesday. A High Wind warning is in effect until midnight.
VDOT workers remain busy today dealing with sleet and snow falling on area roads.


Robert Foresman, Rockbridge County’s emergency management coordinator, says the Rockbridge area got pretty lucky in dodging the full effects of Hurricane Sandy.
At last report, about 110,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers remain without power, with most of the outages in Northern Virginia. Appalachian Power reports approximately 29,000 customers without power in Virginia.
