Former Lexington Mayor Charles Phillips Jr., who passed away on Wednesday, will
be honored October 27 with a memorial service.
The service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Lexington
Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in Dunlap Auditorium.
The 77-year-old Phillips died on Wednesday at Carilion Stonewall Jackson
Hospital.
Phillips, an economics professor at Washington and Lee University for
44 years, served as the mayor of Lexington from 1971 to 1988.
