An 11-year-old boy died Sunday in Augusta County, as a result of a house
fire in Dooms.
The fire claimed the life of 11-year-old Dustyn Fitzgerald.
Firefighters got the call for the fire at a two-story home at 698 Dooms
Crossing Road just after 8:30 Sunday morning.
Three occupants in the home were able to get out but the 11-year-old, who
was sleeping upstairs on the second floor, was not able to escape the fire and died
of smoke inhalation.
Investigators say there is no word on what caused the fire.
