U.S. News & World Report Rankings


U.S. News & World Report has ranked UVA second in the nation, when it comes to the best colleges for 2013.
William and Mary was rated in sixth place among national public universities while Virginia Tech is 28th among the Top 30 public schools.
On a separate list of public liberal arts colleges, VMI ranks fourth. VMI is 70th on the list that also includes private liberal arts colleges. Washington and Lee is 14th on that list and the University of Richmond is 28th.
On the regional university list, the top 30 for the South includes James Madison University, at 6th; University of Mary Washington, 16th; Christopher Newport University, 23rd; Hampton University, 27th; and Shenandoah University, 28th.
