Two fatal accidents in the region Thursday and Friday.
In Amherst County, an accident Thursday night on Virginia 151 claimed the life of a South
Boston man. The wreck occurred near the intersections with Athalone Lane and Hartless Road, as a
southbound truck hit a northbound vehicle. The driver of the northbound vehicle
was killed. The Virginia State Police say charges are pending.
Meanwhile, a Lynchburg
man, 41-year-old Steven Kendrick, died early Friday morning in a single vehicle
accident on the Lynchburg Expressway. Authorities say Kendrick’s vehicle ran
off the road and hit a light pole. Excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
Kendrick, who was not wearing a safety belt, was thrown from his vehicle and
died at the scene of the accident.
