EAS test

Federal officials plan to conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m.
The test will last approximately 30 seconds, as regularly scheduled television, radio, cable, and satellite shows will be interrupted as the EAS system is tested.
The test is being conducted by FEMA, the FCC and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, as part of the effort to keep the nation safe during emergencies.
