Special Program

Francis Lynn will be presenting a program Friday on two key historical events in Buena Vista’s history. Lynn will be speaking at the quarterly program of the Paxton House Historical Society Friday, Aug. 5, at 7 p. m., at the Maury River Senior Center.
The first half of the program focuses on 1828, the year Elisha Paxton began building his brick mansion, the Paxton House. The second half of the program starts in 1968, the year Buena Vista purchased the 315-acre Paxton Place, which had by this time acquired the name of Glen Maury.
