Sales Tax Holiday

Virginia's back to school sales tax holiday will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The tax break applies to qualifying purchases of school supplies priced at $20 or less per item, and on articles of clothing and footwear costing $100 or less.
The state's sales tax rate is 5 percent.
