Firefighters battled a brush fire Thursday in
Bedford County along U.S. 501 near the Amherst County line.
The fire burned at least eight acres in the James River
Wilderness Area.
Firefighters placed a containment line around the
fire Thursday afternoon.
Forestry officials are still trying to determine what
started the wildfire.
