For the third straight year, the statewide recycling rate
in Virginia is up over 40%.
The state Department of Environmental Quality reports that Virginia
localities had a recycling rate of 41.5% in 2012.
The 2012 rate was down slightly from 2011, when the
recycling rate was 43.5 percent.
