Democrat Mark Herring has declared victory in the close race for attorney
general.
At last report, the State Board of Elections had Herring leading Republican
Mark Obenshain by 106 votes.
A recount appears likely.
If Herring prevails, Democrats next January would hold all five of
Virginia's statewide offices -- two U.S. Senate seats, governor, lieutenant
governor and attorney general -- for the first time since 1969.
