AAA officials say the national
average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline rose to $3.62 last
Friday, six cents more expensive than one week ago and the largest weekly increase
since February.
That same gallon of gas in Virginia
cost $3.39 as of last Friday.
The upcoming Memorial Day holiday
weekend marks the official start of the summer driving season. AAA
officials say some analysts believe we won’t see the record setting summer gas
prices we’ve seen in the past.
