Letter carriers and food pantries will be taking
part Saturday in a big food drive, Stamp Out Hunger.
Before the drive, mail carriers will be placing
empty bags in mailboxes and will pick up the bags on Saturday.
Area residents are urged to fill the empty bags
with nonperishable food, including canned soup, canned meats and fish, peanut
butter, canned vegetables, fruits and juices, boxed goods, and pasta and rice.
The bags will be delivered to area food pantries,
including the Rockbridge Area Relief Association in Lexington, Community Share
in Buena Vista, and the Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry.
