Senate Okays Texting While Driving Amendments

The Virginia Senate has approved Governor Bob McDonnell's amendments to a texting while driving bill.
Under the amended legislation, drivers would pay $125, instead of $250 for a first offense, and $250 instead of $500 for any further offenses.
The bill makes texting while driving a primary offense which means a law enforcement officer could ticket a driver for that alone.
