Red Cross Providing Help for Fire Victims



The American Red Cross is providing assistance to several families throughout the region who have been displaced from their homes due to fires.

Two adults and a child in Churchville were displaced due to a fire on Thursday. Two adults were displaced from their home on Maury River Road in Goshen Thursday night and a fire Friday morning in Crimora resulted in two adults and a child receiving assistance.

Red Cross assistance typically includes meals, clothing and hotel accommodations. Other assistance can include replacement medications, items for infants and emotional support.

Citizens can help support the Red Cross by sending a donation to the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross at 1105 Rose Hill Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
