West Point tops Parry McCluer

West Point defeated Parry McCluer 62-53 Thursday in the Division 1 state semifinals at the VCU Siegel Center in Richmond.
It was Parry McCluer’s first appearance in the state semifinals in 18 years.
West Point’s pressure defense, eight three-pointers, and a 10-man rotation resulted in more than 20 Parry McCluer turnovers as the Fighting Blues fell behind 49-33 after three quarters. The Fighting Blues never quit and reduced the West Point lead to 52-46 but West Point free throws down the stretch gave the Pointers the final nine point cushion.
Parry McCluer concludes the season with a final record of 21-7.
