$200,000 in Community Development
Block Grant Local Innovation funding has been awarded to Farmville for an education
and tourism facility to commemorate the role Farmville played in the civil
rights movement in education.
The facility will feature exhibits
that document the transition from segregated to integrated public
education. Particular emphasis will be focused on the local children and
families affected by the civil rights movement in the area.
