Emergency Declaration for Virginia



President Barack Obama has signed a federal emergency declaration that Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell had sought from Hurricane Sandy in October.
Federal aid will be made available to state and local governments to cover costs for emergency measures and debris removal.
Funding will be available in 25 counties and the independent cities of Fairfax, Falls Church and Manassas. The counties are Accomack, Arlington, Clarke, Craig, Culpeper, Essex, Fauquier, Frederick, Greene, Highland, King and Queen, Lancaster, Loudoun, Madison, Mathews, Middlesex, Nelson, Northampton, Northumberland, Prince William, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Surry, Warren and Westmoreland.
